heartCookieGreetings, and Happy Holidays. I can hardly believe that December is here already. But it is, so it’s time to celebrate! With Chanukah being observed from December 12th – December 20th, Winter Solstice on the 21st, Christmas on the 25th, and Kwanzaa from December 26th – January 1st, there are plenty of holidays to celebrate. And as we continue our monthly theme of A Time for Gifts, we’ll be talking about how You Are the Gift, The Gift of Your Light, and the Gift of New Beginnings.

We’ll have a special Solstice/Holiday service on Sunday, December 17th, presented by our much-loved guest musician, Robert Anderson. He’s done this special program at other centers and I’ve heard it is absolutely wonderful and not to be missed. We’ll also have a special Solstice Celebration on the evening of Thursday, December 21st – the actual day of Solstice. Our beautiful Christmas Candlelight Service will be on Sunday morning, the day before Christmas, at our regular service time. Our traditional World Peace Meditation will take place on the last morning of the year, Sunday the 31st, at 5:00 am. It’s not a very convenient time, but it’s scheduled so that everyone on the planet can be praying for peace at the same time. We’ll then have our regular Sunday morning service that day at 10, followed by Potluck. What a great way to end the year!

December is a time of great joy, and can also be a time of fairly high stress. In this time of busyness, it’s especially important to make sure you gift yourself by taking quiet time for prayer, meditation, and whatever other spiritual practices feed your soul. Trust me, it will make a difference! And as you do your holiday shopping, I encourage you to honor and care for yourself by not overspending and by remembering that You Are the Gift!

Looking ahead to January, we’ll have our Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 21st, after service, so put that on your calendar now.

Thanks to all who helped get ready for the holidays by decorating the Center, and to all who stepped up to provide food, resources, and helping hands for Michael Payne’s Memorial Service. What an amazing and giving spiritual community this is!

Are you interested in joining the leadership of our amazing spiritual center by serving on the Board of Trustees? It’s a great group and vital to the functioning of CSLBV. If this calls to your heart, give me a call at 303-668-0411 and we can talk about it, OK?

In December, I’ll be in the office on Thursday afternoons from 2:30-5:30, as usual. I’m also in the office at other times by appointment. Feel free to call if you’d like to come in to chat or to pray, or if you have some ideas you’d like to share.

Mary and I wish you EXACTLY the kind of holidays you want – filled with love and peace and abundance and joy! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings! Journey joyfully, knowing that you are blessed and you ARE a blessing!

Love, Rev. Jyoti
