Held Thursday December 21, 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the Center. Winter Solstice is the seasonal crossing from fall into winter. The noon-time sun reaches its lowest point on the horizon and the sun’s warmth is at its minimum. We transition into the cold dark of the winter months. And yet from Winter Solstice on, each day increases the sun’s light and warmth. The sun begins its return to fully warming the earth in its movement toward Spring Equinox in March. Winter solstice has been honored and marked throughout time.
Our ancestors had a deep relationship with the cycles of the heavens and the earth. They participated ceremonially in these seasonal and celestial cycles because of the visceral significance these held in their everyday lives. After discussing these events, we will gather in sacred circle and celebrate the return of the light and prepare for the dark and cold of winter by setting our intentions in ceremony together. The presentation and ceremony will be conducted by Reverend Candice Knight.
Where: Center for Spiritual Living Boulder Valley, 107 E Geneseo, Lafayette
When: 7:00 – 8:30 pm
