Coronavirus. Recession. Stock Market Crash. Quarantines. Social Isolation. Hoarding. Businesses Closing. Restrictions.
No toilet paper…
All of this is happening incredibly quickly and can easily become overwhelming. Our thoughts and attention may be on watching the world respond to this pandemic in fear and seeing our community activities come to a stop. During times of stress and the unknown it’s imperative we take time to ground ourselves in spiritual truth and live our daily lives in a safe manner while not getting sucked into a global fear.
We do this by deepening into our spiritual practice.
While your spiritual practice is always important, it is even more important now in times of fear and stress. Here are a few things you can do at home, right now, to keep yourself centered in spirit and grounded in the truth of who you are.
- Steep yourself in uplifting, truthful teachings. This can range from books to podcasts to YouTube videos, anything that brings your power back to you and helps you shift to forward thinking. Starting your day with as little as five or ten minutes of both modern and classic teachings will shift the energy of you and your entire day. From Napolean Hill to Ernest Holmes to more modern teachers such as Brandon Burchard, Marianne Williamson or Oprah Winfrey.
- Consciously separate yourself from the “collective consciousness”. The collective consciousness is the shared beliefs or our society. This can be your family, your city, your community at CSLBV, Colorado, the USA, and our planet as a whole. To do this I visualize clouds above me for as far as I can see. With intention I see myself, or the energy that is me, dropping out of that cloud into my body. There is no right way to do this, try different things until you find something that works for you.
- Focus on activities that uplift you, not that bring you down. For example, if you are aware you are experiencing the doldrums, put on some music and dance. Move your body. Sing. Don’t do a Law and Order marathon. Spend some time each day in some form of vibrationally uplifting activity.
Science of Mind and Spirit teachings tells us to “treat and move our feet”. Treatment is another word for affirmative prayer. What this means for us in this time is to maintain our spiritual practice AND follow safety recommendations of the professionals. Washing our hands for 20 seconds, keeping a six-foot distance from others, and avoiding large crowds.
We have moved our services to Facebook live for the time being. You can access it for free here https://www.facebook.com/cslbv/ at 10:00am MT.
We can stay healthy, strong and whole. We can know the God Quality of Love, and that our caring for and loving ourselves is one way to show our love for others.
