From My Heart: Reverend Jyoti

Greetings.  It was wonderful for Mary and I to have 10 days at the beach in Sarasota, Florida.  The sunsets were beautiful and the weather was great – we never once needed to drive with the top up on the red Mustang convertible!  We visited two Centers for Spiritual Living while we were there and it was good to see what other centers about the size of ours are doing. It also made me appreciate CSL Boulder Valley even more.  We are so blessed by our wonderful music, sweet space, and the light that all of you bring!  It’s good to be back home relaxed and refreshed.

It was handy, while we were away, to watch CSLBV’s Sunday Messages online and see the inspiring messages by Lea Alvarado, RScP and Rev. Dr. Bob Deen.  Did you know that you can listen (and usually watch) the Sunday messages by going to  You can also donate online by clicking on the Make a Donation button that can be found at the bottom of the screen.

Since returning home, Centers for Spiritual Living has convened their first ever VIRTUAL convention.  There’s some great info online about the Leadership, Practitioner’s, Minister’s, and Member’s Councils and wonderful messages from the leaders of our global organization.  You can check it out at  One of the fun things that came out of the convention was the first ever CSL Music Video.  For some unknown reason, CSL Boulder Valley wasn’t included in it even though we had a lot of fun making the video that we submitted.  I was hoping to see all of your beautiful smiles on the big screen!

The theme for 2017 is Values Based Spiritual Living, and the theme for March is Expanded Horizons.  I don’t know about you, but I love learning.  The more I learn and practice our teaching, the better and better my life gets.  Religious Science started out as an educational institute because what our founder Ernest Holmes really wanted was to teach people how to create the lives they wanted by using the powerful teachings of Science of Mind and Spirit.  The Ageing to Sageing class taught by Rev. Jody Stevenson has just ended and was a tremendous benefit to all who participated.  Our next class will be a certificated CSL class taught by Jim Babcock, RScP, starting in April.  Jim has been a Practitioner for twenty-some years, just graduated from Naropa with a degree in Comparative Religions, and is a transformative, experienced, and delightful teacher.  Stay tuned.

As one of the Sister Carmen Food Bank volunteers from CSL Boulder Valley, I was especially delighted by the great response to our February canned fruit and soup collection.  At this time of year the Food Bank shelves tend to be emptier than usual, so it was great to be able to make a difference with our contributions.  Thank you all!

In March, I’ll be in the office on Thursday afternoons from 2:30-5:30, as usual.  I’m also in the office at other times by appointment.  Feel free to call if you’d like to come in to chat or to pray, or if you have suggestions you’d like to share.

As March signals the end of winter and the beginning of spring, it’s a great time to consider what seeds we want to plant – in our gardens and in our consciousness.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings!  Journey joyfully, knowing that you are blessed and you ARE a blessing!

Love, Rev. Jyoti
