From My Heart: Rev. Jyoti DeVernie

Greetings,

I always think of the beginning of September as a time that’s filled with promise. When I was a kid, that’s when we went back to school, with new pens and pencils and fresh notebooks just waiting to be filled with all sorts of new information and perspectives… The opportunity to see old friends and make new ones… Such a time of hope and opportunity and promise.

And it feels like this is an amazing time of opportunity and promise for CSL Boulder Valley as well. We are growing, having more kids and families on Sunday mornings, and a feeling of excitement is in the air. We’re open to a new larger space and increased prosperity to support it, so if you know of anyplace for lease that might be a good fit for us, please let me or one of the Board members know, OK?

Our theme this month is Spiritual Mind Treatment, the Feeling. I am loving the opportunity to focus on the importance of feeling deeply the words and thoughts that we put into prayer. It is SUCH a powerful opportunity, a powerful tool we can use to open to our next steps, as individuals and as a spiritual community.

Speaking of next steps, you won’t want to miss Kelly Robbins’ workshop this Sunday after service: Trust Your Next Step – Creating the Confidence to Cut Fresh Tracks. You’ll find more about it elsewhere in the newsletter. I’m looking forward to it and I hope to see you there.

And I’m delighted that Practitioner Lea Alvarado (soon to be Rev. Lea!) will be teaching Beyond Limits. If you haven’t taken it, or haven’t taken it in awhile, jump right in and immerse yourself in the life-changing principles of Science of Mind and Spirit. It’s a great class that will take you deeper than we have time for on Sunday mornings – and a great chance to connect with others in our spiritual community.

Please save the evening of Friday, November 9th for a special celebration of my ordination and Lea Alvarado’s installation as Assistant Minister. It will be a beautiful ceremony and celebration and we’d be honored if you’d attend. Details will follow as the celebration gets closer.

I’ll be in the office on Thursday afternoons as usual, (except September 13th, when my sister Jan and I will be on our way to Florida, taking Jan’s car to her daughter. We haven’t been on a road trip together for several years, and we always have lots of laughs and a great time.) I’m in the office at other times by appointment as well. Feel free to call if you’d like to come in to chat or to pray, or if you have ideas or suggestions you’d like to share. Sunday mornings are often so busy that I don’t have as much time as I’d like with each of you!

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings and at our other events. Journey joyfully, knowing that you are blessed and you ARE a blessing.

Love,
Reverend Jyoti
