From My Heart: Reverend Jyoti

April – Springtime – I love it!  Especially now that I have my cute little Mini Cooper convertible! I love the sunshine and the air and the idea of being open at the top, which fits perfectly with our theme for the month, which is Spiritual Living through Transformation and Evolution.  Our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes, spoke of the importance of being open at the top, as an organization and as individuals.  To be open at the top is to be open to Spirit, open to new ideas, open to growth and evolution and transformation. To be open at the top is to be open to love and fulfillment, to joy and prosperity, and to all the other gifts of the Spirit.  A powerful way to do that is to have a regular time each day for prayer, meditation, or whatever spiritual practices feed your soul.  May we all stay open at the top!

Speaking of Transformation and Evolution, you won’t want to miss our next class, The Gifts of Imperfection, based on Brené Brown’s book of the same name.  In The Gifts of Imperfection, Brené Brown, PhD, a leading expert on shame, authenticity and belonging, shares what she’s learned from a decade of research on the power of Wholehearted Living–a way of engaging with the world from a place of worthiness and authenticity.  We’ll engage our minds, hearts, and spirits as we explore the truth that even when we are afraid, we can also be brave and vulnerable, which allows us to connect more deeply with others and ourselves. This is a rich class that’s just perfect for anyone who’s ready to express more joy, self-love, and authenticity.  I’m really looking forward to teaching this 6-week class that starts April 18th.  Call or email if you have questions.

We’ve had some great Outreach projects lately, and I want to thank all of you for your generosity and caring as we support those in our larger community who struggle to keep food on their tables.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  If you’d like to join the small team that works at Sister Carmen Food Bank on Wednesdays from 10-1, give me a call or drop me an email, OK?  It’s fun, a good workout, and is greatly appreciated!

Easter is this month – a celebration of renewal and regeneration.  Don’t miss our special Easter service on the 16th.  There will be great music, of course, and it will be a wonderful celebration of newness and springtime.  And as spring flowers are blooming, CSL Boulder Valley is blooming as well.  It’s great to see new faces on Sunday morning, and I SO appreciate the commitment of all who serve the Center on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.  I am so blessed to minister to such a wonderful spiritual community.  Thank you all!

In April, I’ll be in the office on Thursday afternoons from 2:30-5:30, as usual.  I’m also in the office at other times by appointment.  Feel free to call if you’d like to come in to chat or to pray, or just to get to know each other better.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings!  Journey joyfully, knowing that you are blessed and you ARE a blessing!

Love, Rev. Jyoti
