Very recently had the most amazing sense of myself as a hollow shell. It was a bit sad and scary at first, but as I sat with the feeling, I realized that this hollow area is exactly the place that we fill with Spirit.
Feeling a sense of divine presence is a highly personal and subjective experience. However, there are several practices that can help us cultivate a deeper connection with the divine and increase our awareness of divine presence. There are many practices, but these four are my go-to’s:
- Practice meditation: Meditation is a powerful tool for quieting the mind and allowing you to connect with your inner self. It can help you to cultivate a sense of inner peace and stillness, which can make it easier to feel a sense of divine presence.
- Spend time in nature: Many people find that spending time in nature helps them to feel more connected to the divine. Take a walk in the woods, sit by a river or ocean, or simply spend time in a park or garden.
- Keep a gratitude journal: Focusing on the things in your life that you are grateful for can help you to cultivate a sense of abundance and positivity, which can help you to feel more connected to the divine.
- Practice mindfulness: Being mindful and present in the moment can help you to become more aware of the beauty and wonder of the world around you, which can help you to feel more connected to the divine.
We are all hollow. The divine is ready to pour forth within. Be patient with yourself and try different practices until you find what works best for you.
