The Dance of Bittersweet

“When you reach higher states of consciousness in which your experience of time and space are transcended, there are various levels of perception. One of these levels is the interconnectedness of all life, all consciousnesses and all existence.

When you enter a certain octave of this transcendence to time and space you enter into what Yeshua (Jesus) referred to as “love.” This love is impersonal. It is not romantic in the sense that most people think of it. It is not erotic attraction. It is a resonance that holds all existence in one interrelated vibration, and this vibration is all-inclusive.

This state of consciousness is very strange, for when you are in the vibrational state of impersonal love you can easily hold conflicting opposites together. They are seemingly resolved in the serenity of this vibration called love. But at the same time there are other perceptions and other realities co-existing with this vibrational state.” Magdalen through Tom Kenyan

How does one embrace these higher levels of consciousness?

One possible access is through the awareness and practice of what Brené Brown calls bittersweet. “Bittersweet is a mixed feeling of happiness and sadness.” And, “… have in common is sadness about letting go of something, mixed with happiness and/or gratitude about what’s been experienced and/or what’s next.”

Many people in our culture, especially Folx with predominantly male energy, are trained to tamp down or ignore their emotions and feelings and often make the feelings wrong and or totally avoid them.

As one invites forward this beautiful amalgamation of multiple emotions or feelings, simultaneously or at the same time, a new freedom arises that is powerful, grounded and Freeing! I have been practicing this dance of bittersweet for several weeks now in my daily spiritual practice. During meditation and affirmative prayer I often am moved to tears, experience being grateful and joyful all at the same time. As I practice bittersweet daily more and more emotions are available and as I have become comfortable with the simultaneous flow, this has morphed into and mapped onto all areas of my life. I invite you to play with this amazing thing called bittersweet!
