June Outreach: Broomfield FISH

Broomfield FISH was founded in 1963 through a collaboration between six Broomfield churches and was originally called “Broomfield Church Women United” and then “Fellowship In Serving Humanity” or just FISH. They recognized that many community members did not have access to food and other important services and began donating and distributing food to those in need.

Today, collaborating with the City & County of Broomfield, they serve more than 4,000 people each year through their food pantry, transportation assistance, rent and utility assistance and other services In 2015, they provided 540,941 pounds of food, 1,260 bus pass-es and gas cards, and helped more than 70 households avoid eviction and/or utility shut-off and through their Navigator Program, and served 27 clients by providing one-on-one mentoring support and guidance to help them become self-sufficient and financially stable.
