From the Board: Jim Schink

Hello, I’m Jim Schink, the newest member of the CSLBV board of trustees. What most of you already know is that I have recently returned to CSLBV after three years in Wisconsin caring for my mom. My duties there ended in June this year when my mom passed. Not to worry, she had a good life. My point is I’m back in my real home, Colorado and CSLBV.

This spiritual center is a rare gem. You can’t find its kind everywhere. Even in the SOM system this Center is a unique brand of happiness and joy. The boost I get from Sunday services carries me into my week. The uplifting message and unconditional love I feel at these services is what I was missing during my stay in Wisconsin.

This past Sunday, the board had a Christmas brunch and it was the most enjoyable time. The people on this board are a perfect example of how to be happy and live a joyous life, radiating their light and love wherever they are. The board with Rev. Jyoti and Rev. Lea are very dedicated to the growth of this Center and represent a powerful force toward that goal. I am blessed to be a part of that group of special people and wish to continue this association for many, many years.

Before I close I would like to leave you with this thought.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church…a home. The remarkable thing is you have a choice every day regarding the attitude you will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past … we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable … The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. As so it is with you….You are in charge of your attitudes.

Love, peace and joy! Jim
