Greetings. I love hearts and I love it that in February they’re so plentiful because of Valentine’s Day. Seeing or finding hearts reminds me that we are surrounded by the love of the Divine. It’s always here for us to feel and enjoy and share. And the more we share love, of course, the more it shows up to delight us in a myriad of ways. The world needs our love now more than ever.
I so appreciate all of the volunteers at CSLBV, and it was my honor to name Catherine Snider as the Mark A. Wilson award winner for 2016. Catherine serves as Treasurer on the Board, takes and shares photos, is our Webmaster, posts the Sunday Message videos on the website, and is our social media guru and go-to tech person. Oh, and she does it all with excellence, good humor, and great love for the center. Thank you, Cathy, for bringing your light and your consciousness to CSLBV!
After a fantastic potluck, we had a great Annual Meeting. Here are a few of the highlights:
- Catherine Snider created a delightful slide show from pictures she’s taken all year.
- Board members Sandy Rinehart and Linda Williamson were re-elected for another term on the Board of Trustees and the appointment of David LeNoble RScP was ratified to fill a board vacancy.
- Board President Laura McGee gave a wonderful overview of the growth and accomplishments of the Center in 2016. She talked about our new sound system, our wonderful regular and guest musicians, classes, our growing youth and teen ministries, our financial stability, and the enthusiasm and joy that fill the Center.
- Our 2017 budget was discussed, celebrated, and approved.
Did you know that our Sunday message videos are posted on our website, along with lots of other information? If you’re not able to make it to church on Sunday morning, you can still catch the message, and you can support the Center online by clicking the DONATE button.
The 2017 Centers for Spiritual Living theme embraced by centers all over the world is Values Based Spiritual Living. The February theme is Spiritual Living as Diversity and Inclusivity, which gives us the opportunity to honor and embrace all of the amazing ways that Spirit shows up in the world. Inclusivity, diversity, and social justice fit right in with our Purpose, Mission, and Vision:
Our Purpose
Celebrating divinity, embracing humanity and creating community.
Our Mission
Providing tools and support to awaken our community to its spiritual magnificence.
Our Vision
Inspiring and uplifting every one of us to transform the world.
Mary and I will be on vacation for part of the month, but I’ll be in the office every Thursday afternoon from 2:30-5:30 except February 16th. I’m also in the office at other times by appointment. Feel free to call if you’d like to come in to chat or to pray, or if you have some ideas you’d like to share. Oh, and be sure to join us for our First Wednesday Meditation each month at 6:30 pm. You’ll be glad you did.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings! Journey joyfully, knowing that you are blessed and you ARE a blessing!
Love, Rev. Jyoti
