Greetings. I love this time of year. The quality of the light, the vibrant colors of the leaves, and the comfortable temperatures make me SO GRATEFUL to live in beautiful Colorado. The Board of Trustees spent some time in beautiful Estes Park for our retreat, which was very productive. Practitioner Lea Alvarado did an outstanding job of facilitating as we visioned and updated our Purpose, Mission, and Vision. Here’s what emerged – what will be on the screen each Sunday for us to repeat together:
Our Purpose: Celebrating divinity, embracing humanity and creating community
Our Mission: Providing tools and support to awaken our community to its spiritual magnificence
Our Vision: Inspiring and uplifting every one of us to transform the world
Thanks to Lea and the Board for working hard and listening to Spirit!
I’m excited about our monthly theme for October: Global Transformation Through Individual Transformation. Because isn’t that just the way it works? In order to transform our world, creating A World That Works for Everyone (our 2016 Theme), we must start with ourselves and our own willingness to use the powerful tools of prayer, meditation, and visioning that we teach.
I’m part of the Boulder County Faith Leaders Caucus, which is a part of Together Colorado, a statewide, non-partisan, multi-racial, multi-faith community representing a growing group of faith leaders who address community issues that impact our lives. Currently, our focus is encouraging folks to get out and VOTE! I won’t tell you how to vote, that’s up to you, but I encourage you to participate in our democracy by voting! Your vote IS important! And I hope you will join me at the Racial Justice Community Meeting on October 8th.
I’m excited about our new sound system. We’ve had some great music on Sunday mornings, and there’s more to come. Jana Stanfield will join us on October 9th. She’ll do the message and the music. Even if you think you’re not familiar with Jana, you’ve probably heard some of her great New Thought music, such as “I Am Not Lost, I Am Exploring” and “If I Were Brave” just to name a couple. You’re not going to want to miss her, so come early to get your favorite seat.
Did you know that our Sunday messages are available on YouTube? You can easily access them by going to our website, cslbouldervalley.org. Look for the green box that says, “Sunday Message”, which will take you to our messages.
In October, I’ll be in the office on Thursday afternoons, as usual. I’m also in the office at other times by appointment. Feel free to call if you’d like to come in to chat or to pray, or just to get to know each other better.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings! Journey joyfully, knowing that you are blessed and you ARE a blessing!
