Biography.Karen has been blind since birth, which has enabled her to take to music with a natural passion that has matured into exceptional artistry. She recorded her first song at age 15 and has sung professionally since then. She earned a degree in Music Performance, and had a long career singing in local nightclubs, jazz clubs, and other venues. She has performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and recorded for ABC Dunhill Records. As she matured and worked her way through a variety of spiritual traditions, she realized that she wanted her music to be more than toe-tapping melodies and fun riffs, to be an experience that uplifts the spirit and brings deeper meaning. She evolved to use music as a tool for taking care of each other and finding a better way to live. She is now the musical director at the Center for Spiritual Living Boulder Valley, weekly bringing tears of sweet sadness, joy, and beauty to her congregation.
