Silent Auction for SmileTrain

We will hold a Fall Silent Auction in conjunction with our September Outreach for SMILE TRAIN. This organization provides operations for children in developing countries who have cleft lip and palate.

Linda Williamson, the silent auction chair, is asking everyone to start thinking of restaurants that you frequent or goods and services that you use that would make great items for the auction. Email Linda at lindawmson@gmail.com if you have any suggestions or questions. Donations will be due on August 27.

We already have two sets of two Avalanche tickets and some restaurant gift certificates that have been donated.   Rev. Jyoti suggested that you consider buying a gift card and asking the manager for a matching contribution to double the worth of the item or give us another item.  Remember to mention that it will be great goodwill and publicity and it’s going to a great cause.

25% of the Silent auction profit will be donated to SMILE TRAIN. This organi-zation provides operations for children in developing countries who have cleft lip and palate. Millions of children in developing countries are suffering from untreated clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly and aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job. Each 45 minute operation requires a donation of $250.
